Fidel Family is a language learning app designed for children ages 1 to 5 in the East African diaspora. Built for families who want their children to grow up multilingual, the app teaches Tigrinya, Amharic, English, and Oromo through vocabulary packs, matching games, the Ge'ez alphabet, and illustrated children's books.

Every word appears in Ge'ez script alongside Latin transliteration, making it natural for children to see and connect both writing systems. Content packs cover everyday categories like animals, family members, body parts, and foods.

The app includes a growing library of multilingual children's books with AI-generated illustrations, page-by-page narration, and background music. Books are created by community authors through the Fidel Family author program, with stories available in all four languages. Physical hardcover editions are available through print-on-demand.

The app is designed with privacy first: zero data collection, no ads, no tracking, and complete offline functionality. All content downloads with the app so children can learn anywhere — on a plane, in the car, or at home without Wi-Fi.

Fidel Family was created by Dino Yemane, an Eritrean-American developer, to help preserve East African languages for the next generation.
